socrates exchange

yesterday, students above 71% from taylors gathered at the glass office. there was 5 of us that got direct entry into the program. what's exceptional this year is that we malaysians can apply for student mobility [all these years, it's just been for europeans]. bingo :) its about funding for our studies. after the whole sum is given by the european union to the school, the money is divided among the socrates students, we can expect around 120,000 euros per person. double bingo.

so, there's just this catch. we have to maintain our average and score better marks each time. last year, in 3 month time, 2 taylorians were pulled out because their marks or design was not up to par. our director michael angus is kinda sketchy about this. i sense that my 2 other friend who had lower marks, will be able to compete for our own place. and for the record, 1/3 of taylorians failed studio and had to resit. its staggering but just a note of precaution would be enough a reminder.

for now i have 3 choices. gent/Brussels in belgium, brno in czech republic, warsaw in poland. during the briefing, we were told that beer is cheaper then water in warsaw.
