Antwerp Part III: Central Train Station

When we first arrive in Antwerp, this is what we see. During a lecture by Chris Platt he talked about Glasgow central station. As people arrive, the first thing they saw was the industrial architecture housing the train and buildings in the station itself before leading out onto the iron-grid lock city. In Antwerp, the station gave us a good impression of the city, everyone looked identifiable with us.

From another end of the station, a very grand like entrance is topped with a dome that is hard to miss no matter where your heading off to.

This is the entrance towards the central part of the station. For a moment I felt we got closer to the building as the other entrance had something similar like this but further away from the ground..

.. Which is this part of the building. On one side of the building, there was train with tracks way above ground, like Lyn said, those are special trains.

As we left, almost cinematic like, the train station sends us off on our journey back home.
